KYNAR® PVDF
Polyvinylidene Fluoride
PVDF,
often referred to by its trade name
Kynar®, is a high purity engineering
thermoplastic with excellent
chemical resistance, abrasion
resistance, flame resistance, and UV
stability.
PVDF is widely used for chemical
tank liners and semiconductor
equipment components.
Homopolymer PVDF exhibits higher
strength and stiffness and has a
higher heat deflection temperature
than copolymer PVDF.
Copolymer PVDF is less stiff but has
superior impact resistance and
stress crack resistance.
Length, width, thickness,
and diameter tolerances vary by
size and by manufacturer
Custom sizes and colors
available upon request
Many of our plastic
materials are available as films
with thicknesses of 0.029" or
less
PVDF Grades Available
FDA compliant
NOTE: Several grades of Kynar
are available. For additional

PVDF is a high molecular weight thermoplastic polymer with excellent
chemical inertness. It is highly resistant to oxidizing agents and halogens
and is almost completely resistant to aliphatic, aromatics, alcohols,
acids and chlorinated solvents. It is resistant to most acids and bases.
PROPERTIES:
Mechanically strong. High dielectric strength. Thermally stable.
Resistant to low temperatures. Stable to ultraviolet and extreme weather
conditions. Self-extinguishing and non-toxic.
San Diego Plastics stocks PVDF shapes manufactured by ENSINGER ENGINEERING PLASTICS.
Ensinger's tradename for this product is TECAFLON®™
TECAFLON®™ (PVDF) combines typical fluoropolymer properties with the mechanical properties
of more rigid thermoplastics.
Other properties include non-toxicity, high purity, a high
heat-deflection temperature, and UV and gamma radiation resistance.
TECAFLON®™ is used in semiconductor processing, chemical processing and heat exchangers.
